We are extremely fortunate to have 54 people helping delivering our service, especially in the times that we are going through. In March 2020, we picked up our office and went virtual. Our team are currenting answering two telephone helplines 5 days per week helping local residents with the issues they face. Whilst working remotely our volunteers are supported by our small paid staff team. We have a training programme that you will be supported through and all we ask is that you are able to give 6 hours per week to your role. Come and be part of our team and help us to deliver vital services to people in Solihull.
Our volunteering opportunities include:
Active Chatters: Talking to people who are shielding or who have had covid-19 or who are over 60 years, getting them to do gentle seated exercise and be more active.
Advisers: provide a free, confidential, efficient and effective advice, information and advocacy service to people who are resident, caring for a resident of Solihull or registered with a GP in Solihull.
Fundraiser: as a charity we rely on donations, grant funding and people who make regular donations to our cause. Assisting to increase the funds into the organisation to use on front line services to local people.
Research and Campaigning: tackle injustices to prevent practices and policies effecting local people.
Wellbeing Officers: making weekly calls to a group of people who are lonely and very often have no one else to speak to.
