Citizens Advice Solihull Borough tendered for an opportunity to deliver information and advice services as part of the Community Wellbeing Service from 1 April 2019, we were not successful.
Carole Hodson, Chair of Citizens Advice Solihull Borough, said:
“We are disappointed Solihull Council chose not to select Citizens Advice to provide advice services in the borough from next April.
“The funding and support we’ve received from council over the past 45 years has helped us make a real difference to the lives of people in Solihull and we’re grateful for that.
“Last year our 100 volunteers and small team of paid workers advised almost 6,000 people with more than 18,000 problems.
“This decision will have a devastating effect on Citizens Advice services here. As a result, we will no longer be able to have a permanent presence in Solihull from 31 March 2019.
“Our top priority is always the people who need us. The Trustees will now work closely with our partners, staff and volunteers to decide how we can best serve the people of Solihull.”
